[musik: Anberlin - Symphony Of Blasse]
honestly speaking, i know i'm always questioning too much for my own good but i've got to note this down for the next time when i get skeptical. today we went to my grandma's sister's house and she's only got a little while to live because she's got cancer in the liver. when we got there, everyone started lamenting how bad the fengshui was. didn't pay much attention to it, but i got the gist of things and understood most of it. after all, i hear most of it everytime we go househunting.
but the thing is, my mom told me the fengshui there is very terrible and she had a gut feeling it wasn't going to be a good thing for us either. we went to queensway to get my jeans altered and ikea to get some cny stuff.
my house is situated beside the corridor, so the living room window is like, beside it. we had shut it when we had gone out. so when we got home, we were walking past the still-shut window and my mom did a double-take and looked frantically at the window. i was pretty much thinking to myself,
what on earth is she doing? when i looked and realised the altar had caught fire.
my stepdad rushed in and realised half of the altar was in flames and he put the fire out. most of the stuff were charred black, the whole house was filled with smoke and there was ash everywhere (even on my bed.) and the thing is, the glass holding the oil had smashed but the fire hadn't spread to the curtains even though they were right beside the altar. And the god/goddesses/buddha statues were completely unharmed by the fire. it had burnt the offerings to shrivelled nothingness but not so much as a hint of a lick of flame on the statues.
i'm just glad we got home in time (hurrah that ikea closes early, that the tailor said we could only collect my jeans tomorrow and not wait there) and well, it's just realising we're lucky even though there was a fire. i don't want to imagine what would happen if the fire had spread... i wouldn't have a computer to be on for one thing.
so yeah.
i believe in all forms of higher being and all religions (except scientology because that's bullshit based on some star trek fellow). it's not that i can't decide which faith to join. Faith is universal, and so is God. There shouldn't be some
my god is better than yours or
my god can do all this but yours can't thing. If i had been born in UAE, i'd be a Muslim. If i had been born in Britain, odds are, i'd probably be Catholic. If i was born in China, i'd be a Buddhist. India and i'd be Hindu. Our faiths are pretty much decided on where we're born, or which family we're born into.
But we all have God still, isn't it?
